American Routes ~ Giants of Jazz: Thelonious Monk and John Coltrane
American Routes did an hour long piece on Thelonious Monk. When listening to Monk I get a sense that we’re getting exactly what we’d get if we met him in real life. Some of Monk is my favorite Jazz to listen to, some other Monk pieces are so uncomfortable they become unlistenable. Thus is the life of an eccentric.
